How It Works

A simple, clear process from start to finish so you know exactly what to expect.

A Simple, Clear Process From Start to Finish

Estate planning does not need to be complicated or confusing. My goal is to make the process straightforward, efficient, and comfortable — so you understand your options and feel confident in your decisions.

Most clients move through the process in a series of simple steps.

Step 1: Complete the Intake Questionnaire

The first step is completing a short online questionnaire so I can understand your goals, family situation, and the type of planning you may need.

This helps make our consultation more productive and focused on your priorities.

After you submit the questionnaire, I will review your information and contact you to schedule a consultation.

Step 2: Free Consultation

We will meet to discuss your situation, goals, and available options. Consultations can take place:

• In person
• By phone
• By secure video meeting

During this meeting, I will explain recommended planning options, answer your questions, and provide clear flat-fee pricing before any work begins.

There is no obligation to move forward after the consultation.

Step 3: Engagement and Payment

If you decide to proceed, you will receive an engagement agreement outlining the scope of services and the agreed flat fee.

Estate planning services are provided on a flat-fee basis, meaning you know the total cost in advance with no hourly billing surprises.

Payment is completed before drafting begins.

Step 4: Document Preparation

Once the engagement is confirmed, I will prepare your documents based on the decisions we discussed.

Most estate plans are completed within approximately 2–4 weeks after the consultation, depending on complexity and responsiveness during the review process.

My focus is accuracy, clarity, and making sure your documents reflect your goals.

Step 5: Review and Revisions

You will receive draft documents to review before signing.

If changes or adjustments are needed, we will revise the documents until everything reflects your wishes correctly.

The goal is for you to fully understand and feel comfortable with your plan before finalizing it.

Step 6: Signing Appointment

When documents are finalized, we will schedule a signing appointment.

Most estate planning documents are signed in person to ensure proper execution under New York law and to avoid future complications. If you prefer, documents can also be delivered by mail or electronically with clear signing instructions.

I guide you through the signing process so everything is completed correctly, regardless of the delivery method.

Step 7: Final Documents and Binder

After signing, you will receive:

• Your original signed documents
• A professionally organized binder
• Digital copies for your records

You will also receive guidance on storing documents and next steps, such as funding a trust if applicable.

Flat Fees and Transparency

Most services are offered using flat fees rather than hourly billing. This provides clarity and predictability so you know the cost before moving forward.

If your situation requires something outside standard planning, that will be discussed clearly in advance.

Questions Along the Way

You are encouraged to ask questions at any point in the process. Estate planning involves important decisions, and understanding your options is essential.
