- What you send us. Your name, contact details and what you tell us about your family, property or legal matter, through the intake form, a questionnaire, email, a notarization request, or a signed engagement letter.
- Calls and texts. If you call or text (716) 453-2253, your phone number, the time and length of the call, and the text messages you send.

How we use it
We use your information to respond to you, to decide whether and how we can help, to schedule consultations, to provide legal and notary services, to send you the messages and documents you ask for, and to meet our legal and professional obligations. Information you share about a legal matter is kept confidential, as New York’s Rules of Professional Conduct require, whether or not you become a client.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with the service providers that run this website and its forms, store our records, deliver our email, and carry our phone calls and text messages, who handle it only to provide those services to us;
- with others when you ask us to, as part of your legal matter; and
- when the law, a court, or the Rules of Professional Conduct require it.
Text messages (SMS)
If you text (716) 453-2253, we use your phone number and messages only to reply to you about your inquiry or legal matter. We never send marketing texts.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The sharing described above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, which are not shared with any third parties.

How long we keep it
We keep information as long as we need it to respond to you and handle your matter, and as long as the rules for lawyers’ records require.
Your choices
You can email matt@peinelaw.com to ask what information we hold about you, or to correct it or delete it. We will do so unless the law or our professional obligations require us to keep it. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
